A Multi Award Winning Business
Around a quarter of a century ago in Castlemaine, Central Victoria in a somewhat dilapidated 1860’s building The Restorers Barn began.
Over time it grew into Castlemaine’s iconic tourism attraction and renovators’ haven, winning multiple business awards. Tradesmen and home renovators happily rub shoulders with visitors from Melbourne, regional Victoria and all over Australia, with regular international tourists too.
Across the many years of operation The Restorers Barn has bought and sold thousands upon thousands of both new & old renovation products and other treasures through its rustic bricks and mortar store.
The Restorers Barn has ultimately stood the test of time over these many years by providing (not only the products) but consistent, honest and informed customer service. This family business in a regional community stands strong because happy customers come back and they bring their friends and family back with them. Mutual respect is woven into the very fabric of this business, and extends beyond the point of sale right down to any queries that ever may arise after the purchase.
With these many years of experience in assisting people through their renovations The Restorers Barn has become a most trusted source in the industry.
Original Pieces from Georgian, Victorian & Edwardian Times
The likes of ceramics, tapware, doors, windows and architectural fittings such as door furniture, locks, latches, hinges, window fittings, door bells, hat & coat hooks, light switches and cabinet fittings in original form have become less procurable as we move further away from these periods in time.
Georgian (& Regency) Architecture (1714 – 1830)
Victorian Architecture (1837 – 1901)
Edwardian Architecture (1901 – 1918)
And here we are… over 100 years later!
We are most grateful to the teams of people who have been instrumental in replicating so many of these elements for our early Australian homes.
The Restorers Barn is proud to have supplied many original pieces to assist in this amazing and long term undertaking.
Once looked upon as simply being “reproductions” these replica items have now come into their own. Supreme workmanship, appropriate use of quality traditional materials, combined with beautiful hand finishes or top quality plating services all come together to create stunning ranges.
Materials such as solid fire clay, sheet brass, solid brass, porcelain, glass, pressed tin, aluminium pressings, sheet iron, steel, timber, cast iron & wrought iron are used to create pieces that will honour styles of the past and last well into the future.
We are spoilt for choice with the vast collection of restoration products that are now at our fingertips to re-invigorate a period homes’ authenticity or to welcome timeless styling in a modern or classic home.
It is now time for The Restores Barn to bring their offering to the online world.
Slow and steady wins the race.
